A Huge Thank You! $10,000.00
for Fallen Soldiers Picnic
A Huge Big Thank You goes out to the Stars & Stripes Participating Teams, Parents, Team Lightning Boosters, and Erie Gymnastics Center. This year the Stars & Stripes raised a record $10,000.00 for the Fallen Soldiers Picnic 501c Fund. The total donation was a combined result of Program Sales, Passing the Boot, Donation of Proceeds from Admissions! We thank the gymnastics community for their continued support of our Stars & Stripes Local Charities.
We recently had the Check Presentation Ceremony at Erie Gymnastics. Members of the Fallen Soldiers were present including immediate Family Members of the honored Fallen Soldiers. They profusely Thank You and your generosity. It was a little teary eyed. The Fallen Soldiers presented us with a beautiful plaque in memory of the event. They invite you ALL to attend their annual Picnic Event on Memorial Day Weekend. Go to their website, a link is provided under the "cool stuff" heading above.
We thank them for their Sons / Brothers / Husbands sacrifice for our Freedom. We also thank the families and board members who spent their entire weekend Representing their lost ones for our Heroes Award Ceremonies!

Team Lightning Men!!!
Team Lightning Men's Team had a great weekend at this years Men's State Gymnastics Championships! The event was hosted at the Parkettes National Training facility. Team Lightning had some Awesome results.
Andy Parks (age 15) is our new and current reigning 2016 Level 9 State Champion. Andy fantastic meet and almost swept the competition winning 6 Gold Medals. Andy won gold on Floor Ex. / Pommel / High Bar / Parallel Bars / Vault & All Around.
Joey Rizzo also had a great weekend and is the 2016 State Level 8 Gold All Around Champion. Joey is the State Champion on Floor, Pommel Horse, & Vault. Joey also took Silver Medals on Rings & High Bar.
We're not done yet, not even close!
UPDATE - 1/19/19 - 11:30am -- Stars & Stripes - Weather Report: The weather reports have varied wildly over the past 2 days here in Erie. As of now - Erie roads are fairly clear. Light flurries with less than 2" of accumulation since last night. We're not sure where the predicted storm is, but it is not significant at this point in Erie. The projected forecast for Erie was 7-10 throughout today, which for Erie (which is used to harsh winters and predominately flat) is typically not 'school closing' amounts. Sunday is expected and additional 1-3 inches.
Obviously weather patterns can change rapidly, thus use your discretion in traveling.
As of now, the meet is ON, and most athletes have arrived for their scheduled flights. All of the Judges are here, most of the Teams and Coaches, and the meet is still on. We had an excellent Friday competition, and almost all athletes were present. If the situation changes, we will notify you via this website and an email directed to the coaches.

Join us for a great flippin weekend! On January 18th thru 21st, nearly 2,000 gymnasts from over 55 quality Gymnastics Clubs will trek to Erie for the 18th Annual Stars & Stripes Coed Gymnastics Invitational. This is a real live - USA Gymnastics Sanctioned Event where the athletes will compete for Stars & Stripes Titles as well as State & Mobility qualification.
The Stars & Stripes offers ALL USA Gymnastics Men's & Women's Competitive Levels from Level 2 thru 10 and Xcel Levels. Our Feature event "Main Event" on Saturday Night (Jan. 19th - 5:30pm) will feature nearly 100 Level 9 & 10 Athletes (USAG Highest Junior Olympic National Levels). This is a "don't miss" event!
The Stars & Stripes is a 9/11 Tribute Competition featuring PA's Largest US Flag as a backdrop for the Event. Local Heroes from Erie will be on hand at the Awards Ceremonies to Award the winning gymnasts. ALL Fire, Police, Military & Rescue Workers are admitted FREE to the event. (Please show proper ID at the door) Erie Gymnastics & Team Lightning Boosters are donating partial proceeds to the Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department.
Tickets are available at the door -- $15.00 Adult // $7.00 Children (age 3-17) -- Multi-Day Passes available.
